PROPOSED TASMANIAN TEAM

CHRISTCHURCH, May 16. A meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council was held last night. The Tasmanian Cricket Association wrote.asking terms for the visit of a Tasmanian team in 1906, to play; 19 matches, to be confined to the South Island and Wellington. It was suggested that the Council could" not approve of any tour leaving Auckland out.

The matter was referred to the committee ■ which is negotiating for the English team.
