Following King Edward's example in 1876, the Prince of Wales desired a thanksgiving service in Westminster Abbey to commemorate his saie return.
King Edward, tSie Prince of Wales, all the members of the Royal Family in London, 200 bluejackets from H.M.S. Renown and Terrible, a draft of marine infantry? Lord Tweedmouth (First Lord of the Admiralty), and many others were present. The Dean's sermon dwelt on India's appreciation of her great Emperor's beneficent rule and personal care for her welfare.
