BUSINESS NOTES.

Messrs Smale and Hay have a new business announcement in this issue.

A social and sale of goods in connection with the Church of England, will take place at the Seddon Public Hall on Wednesday next.

Cooper and Goodall's Living Picture Art entertainment at Drill Shed on Monday next.

The annual election of members of the Picton .Road Board will take place as notified in to-day's issue. Tenders are invited for the erection of additions to the Starborough Hotel at Seddon.

A social in connection with St. George's Society will take place at St. Patrick's Hall on Wednesday evening next. Mrs Mathewson, from Wellington, will show this week in Blenheim on ,dates advertised, an assortment of winter millinery and ladies' fashionable wear.

The competition which the proprietors of Tiger Tea have been advertising recently, and which closed on March 31st, has, we understand, proved a great success so far as the number of entries was concerned. Competitors had to supply two missing adjectives describing a quality of the tea, and also, the position which it holds. The words selected were "economical" and " matchless," but strangely enough only five had even one word right. To these five the proprietors have given a prize of £1 each, and an additional one to a Miss Bertha Baker, of South Dunedin, for an excellent design sent in. The names of the prizewinners are advertised in this issue.

An advertiser has a second-hand bicycle for sale. . . Duchess hair wash is in demand at the New Stand.

A meeting of the Plumpton Coursing Club will be held at the Grosvenor. Hotel on Thursday evening. Physical culture classes will be resumed at Vannini's hall on Wednesday next.

A meeting (convened by the Mayor) to consider -the question of holding a band contest in Blenheim, will be held at the Council Chambers to-morrow evening.

A flaxmill hand is wanted for Marshlands.

RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. The Trial to start at 9 a.m. sharp. 2. Any competitor five minutes late after his name has been called may be disqualified, and his entrance fee forfeited. . 3. Merino wethers will be used in each class. Three sheep allowed in each class.^ # 4. Any, dog committing a flagrant act, or tearing the sheep, the owner of such dog will be held responsible. 5. No dogs, unless competing, allowed on the ground. All dogs, when not competing, to be tied up. Any objectionable dog not allowed to take part in the meeting, nor allowed on the ground. All dogs to be the bona fide property of the competitor. G. Any competitor disobeying the judges or authorities may be disqualified, the decision of the judges to be final. .., i 7. Protests,' accompanied with deposit of £1, must be lodged with the Secretary, within half-an-hour of the termination of each class, the deposit to be forfeitdd if protest proves frivolous. 8. No person allowed to interfere with any competitor when working his dog. : 9. " Member " means anyone on the Club's books, with privilege to run one dog in one class free; other entries, 2s 6d each dog each class. Non-mem-bers, first entry 12s 6d, other entries 2s 6a each.

10. Entries will be received by the Secretary until 9 p.m. on SATURDAY, sth May, .1906, at the Grosvenor Motel, Blenheim. 11. Any telegrams or letters as entries bearing postniark, or proved to have been placed in private mail-bag, or place where entry is made, will be accepted as entries received on May ft.
