PISTON ROWING CLUB'S BALL.
The usual wind-up to a regatta is a ball, and to such a successful function as the Championship Regatta was yesterday a successful ball was the consequent finale. The club had been making preparations for some time, and the result must have been very gratifying to the Committee. The hafl was transformed into a beautiful room with the Club's colours entwined all round it, and large fronds of Nikau palms, flags, ptc. The legend <' Welcome " was displayed in a prominent position. The supper was laid out in a large marquee at the side of the hall, and was a sumptuous one, provided principally by the lady friends of the Club. The floor was in excellent condition, and the music was supplied by Vaimini's band. A very large crowd of people filled the room with dancers and onlookers.
