The winner went to the front before reaching the turn, and led into the straight, a splendid finish resulting in a half a length win, Condor a good third. Time, Imin 15isec. Maiden Stakes—Baerami 1, Karrinnor 2, Amphora 3. Nine starters. Six to 4 Castaway, 7 to 4 Amphora. Won by a length. Time, 2min llsec. Champagne Stakes—Collarit 1, Antonius 2, Benbow 3. Eleven starters. Seven to 4 Collarit, 3 to 1 Antonious, 4 Disaster. The favourite led all the way, and won by half a length. Time, Imin 16$ sec.

Cup—Noreen 1, Proceed 2, Boabdil 3. Non-starter, Zenda. Seven to 2 Scot Free, .7 to 1 Gladsome and Little Toy, 8 to 1 Ossian, Proceed, Noreen, 12 to 1 Boabdil, 14 to 1 Marvel Loch! The first away were: Refrain, Maniapoto, Proceed, Fitzgrafton. At the mile Maniapoto was a couple of lengths clear of Noreen. Passing the five furlongs, Maniapoto increased his lead to four lengths. Before reaching the half-mile Maniapoto dropped out. Marvel Loch was first in the straight. At the distance Noreen ran to the front and won by a length and a-half from/ proceed, who beat Boabdil by a length. Gladsome was fourth. The last to finish was Maniapoto. Time, 3min 29Jsec.

First Steeple—Merry Jest 1, Up-to-Date 2, Auriculum 3. Seven starters. Won by a length and a-half. Only three finished. Snowstorm fell and broke his neck. Time, smin 48Jsec.

First Nursery—Banzai 1, Dea 2, Gaby 3. Twelve starters. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin 42sec.

The weather was fine and unseasonably hot. The attendance was very large.
