REDUCTION IN MINERS' PAY
THE WORKERS' COMPENSATION ACT.
' [PRESS ASSOCIATION.! (Received March 22, 12.12 a.m.) BRISBANE, March 21. The employees of several Gympie mines were discharged and re-engaged at a reduction of a shilling a week. . It is understood that action will be taken with, a view to making the men pay the expenses of insurance under the new regulations of the Workmen's Compensation Act. At a isv^sequent meeting of mine-owners the directors formulated a scheme to meet claims arising under the Act.
