FAEEWELL SOCIAL AND'^ANCE,

One the^pvc of their departure the .jteauj were entertained to a social and dance at the Holborn Town Hall by the Association of Now Zealanders in London. Despite the fact that the dance was got up at very short notice there was a very good muster of New Zealanders, including almost every member' of the team, Lord Khmftlrd, the president of the English Football Association, was present, bringing with him a farewell message to the team from his Majesty the King, The New Zealand High Commissioner was to have attended, but indisposition kept him away. He was, however, represented by itis private secretary, Mr J. A. Mason. Amongst others present were Mr Sorrell, president of the New Zealand Association, with his wife and daughters, Mr and Mrs C. Wray Palliser and daughters, Mr and Mrs Walter Clifford and daughters, (Marlborough), Messrs K. H. Hooper, P, A, Vaile, Davy, X, Bookn^stev, S, P, Spiller, 0, W, Bear and; Sex'geant-Major M'lntosh (King's Colonials), Dancing began goon alter 8 p,m, and oonthrued till midnight, and songs and recitations by Mesavs Qorrell, E, Cropp, the Australian Twins, and others were interspersed. The team algo obliged with their Maori warcry, which was given with splendid verve. Mr Bockmaster, hon secretary of the New Zealand Association, officiated, i\s M.C,
Some interesting speeches were made in the course of the evening.
