ALLEGED IRREGULARITIES

WELLINGTON, March 15. Mr Field, M.H.R., speaking at Levin last night, suggested that there was a flaw in the Education Act of last session, and by it Education Boards were justified in their action with regard to the appointment of teachers. He said it was not clear that it was obligatory on Boards that they should submit six names to the committees, and both the AVellington and Wangaiuii Boards were making appointments under the old system. The . Premier - interjected: "As Minister for Education, I shall refrain from allowing salaries to be paid in case of any appointments so made."
