AUCKLAND—A joint Committee was returned. MASTERTON—The old Committee returned. PALMERSTON NORTH - Four. Moderates and one Prohibitionist. FEILDING—Three Moderates and two Prohibitionists. BULLER-Practically the old Com-, mittee. DUNEDlN—Moderate Committee elected. CAVERSHAM - Four Nb-license candidates elected. WAIKOUAITI—For this electorate, which carried reduction at the local option poll ,the returns are not complete, but the~No-Ucense candidates are leading. PORT CHALMERS - No-license candidates are leading. HUTT—Moderates elected. TAIERI — No-license candidates elected. This means that three hotels will be closed in the district, and probably a conditional license be refused to the Dunedin Jockey Club at Wiiigatiri. CHRISTCHURCH — The returns are not completed, but the No-license candidates are leading by a good majority. Later. The complete returns give the ten o'clock license party a substantial victory, the entire ticket being returned. The lowest prohibitionist polled 5922 ; the highest trade nominee 5451. The greatest interest was taken in the contest. The new committee stands pledged to 10 o'clock licenses, and a refusal of conditional licenses. This means no bar at the Exhibition.
