A telephone exchange has been established at Picton, and is now in working order. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 7 to 8 p.m., except Sundays. A post office has been opened at Grassmere.

A Post Office has been opened at Flaxbourne.

A receiving box has been erected at Mr S. Norgrove's store, Scott Street. The box wul be cleared at 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily. Registered letters must be handed in one hour before, and parcels-post parcels thirty minutes before, the ordinary mail closes.
