Mails will close at the Chief Post Office, Blenheim, as under (subject to necessary alterations):—

MONDAY, MARCH 12. Wellington, Northern and Southern Offices: Per Wainui, at 3.30 p.m.; late fee letters,. 3.40 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, and Hokitika,: Per Pateena, at 7.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 7.25 p.m.; guard's van 8 p.ni .train.

A telephone exchange has been established at Picton, and is now in working order. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 7 to 8 p.m., except Sundays. A post office has been opened at Grassmere.
A Post Office has been opened at Flaxbourne.
A receiving box has been erected at Mr S. Norgrove's store, Scott Street. The box wul be cleared at 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily. Registered letters must be handed in one hour before, and parcels-post parcels thirty minutes before, the ordinary mail closes.
