The following appeared in our town edition last issue:
The local secretary for Trinity College, London, has received word that, beginning with this year's examination, a gold medal, to be styled the "Plunket" medal, will be annually presented by His Excellency the £-vernor, Vice-President of the College, to the candidate selected by the visiting examiner as the best in the Colony. The award will be confined to local centre candidates, those from enrolled institutions not participating.
