AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINES.
MR KEIR HARDIES STATE-
MENTS.
WRONGLY INTERPRETED
[PEEBS ASSOCIATION.] (Received March 10, 8.3 2a.m:) ! LONDON, March 9. Mr Keir Hardie repudiates the " Patriote " interview. He declares that he spoke through an interpreter, and that his opinions as reported regarding Australia were the opposite to what they are to-day. • [According to an intei'view appearing last week in the Brussels newspaper " Patriote," Mr Hardie, the Labor leader in the House of Commons, was made to say that Englishmen committed massacres in Australia; that frightful outrages were committed recently in Western Australia, where Englishmen had done unspeakable things, which horrified .honest Englishmen just as the events in the Congo had aroused the indignation of honest Belgians.]
