[press association . ] Received March 10, 8.55 a.m. BRISBANE, March 10. The township of Windorah is sur •otinded by tlood waters.
A boat containing three men bringing provisions was capsized. The occupants reached land after swimming a mile. Two of them went to a station three miles away in search of relief, swimming most of the distance; the third remained on an island for two days without food or fire. He suffered agonies from sand-flies and mosquitoes.before being rescued. The loss of provision is serious, as none are procurable in the. neighbourhood. The Thompson River is in high flood at Longreach, and is * still rising slowly. : TliQ country • adjoining is a v.ast,. e^P an,si e °| water. Communication's cut off excepting to the westward by boat; and provisions, are scarce. .• . 4 , . 'Fifteen Inches of rain have'fallen at WintohV and wheel trafttc is suspended. Rations are scarce outside the centres, a"mi PiS™^ is used as food. The railway from Normemton to Croydon is still under water.
