THE STUDENTS ENROLLED
BOARDING SCHOLARSHIPS
The principal of the Wellington Training College, Mr W. Gray, this week submitted to the Education Board a statement regarding the working of the college since its opening on February 19th. Fifty-nine students have been enrolled, in accordance with regulations, and subject to the conditions and restrictions imposed by the Board in its form of application. Thirty-two of these have entered under division A as ex-pupil teachers: the remainder (19) under division B as students, beginning ther career as teachers. DISTRICTS REPRESENTED. A. B. The following from Divsion B were recommended for boarding scholarships, tenable for two years:— Jessie Abernethy, Wanganui. Ada Eastwood, Wanganui. Frank Grant, Wanganui. William Hoult, Nelson. The following were recommended for boarding scholarships, tenable for one year only (available from 1905): — Constance Strack, Wanganui. Kathleen Hewetson, Nelson. Jessie Gordon, Wanganui. Stanley Dyson, Nelson. The Board approved the recommendations. •
Temporary arrangements for the staff of the college have been made as under:—Miss K. Lawson, Technical School, drawing and modelling; Mr R. Garlick, Physical Culture School, physical culture; Miss Hall, Mount Cook Girls', sewing and elocution; Mr Wilson, Newtown School, singing; Miss Hooper, Wanganui, carton modelling and brush work.
