THE CIVIL POWER IN INDIA

DISSATISFACTION OF THE

EX-VICEROY

LIBERALS CHARGED WITH IN

CONSISTENCY,

LONDON, March 1. Lord Curzon, ex-Viceroy of India, in a letter to the "Times," strongly disapproves of Mr Morley/s decision. He contrasts the attitude of the Liberals in power.

The " Times," repling, reminds Lord Curzon of the transformation witnessed on the subject of the Chiness labor. The " Times" would sooner condone with any degree of inconsistency on the part of the Government than an action, however consistent, prejudicing the Imperial interests. It asks for a reasonable trial of the Indian compromise.
