At the Police Court this morning, before Mr Stanford, S.M., David Elliott, fruiterer, was fined £15 and £10 respectively, in default three months' imprisonment, on two charges of sly grog selling. Mr Jobn Bowden, chief accountant jiud assistant general manager of the State Fire lusurauce Department, who lis in charge of the Department while the General Manager is in England, has tendered bin resignation, which is to take effect as from January 31. DUNEDJN, Nov. 25. Hospital Saturday was jnapgurated to-day, and though the weather is none too favorable, collectors appear to be busy. It is anticipated that over £500 will be realised. The "Star's" shilling subscription list already exceeds £600. Messrs Bing, Harris and Co. to-day sent a donation of £250. ;
