WHEATSTONE is a beautiful roan in color, and has a splendid temper. He is rising six years old, and was bred by James Bishop, Esq., Wheatstone, Canterbury. WHEATSTONE is sired by Sir Colin, out of Gyp. Sir Colin out of Diamond by Kelvin, dam Jess by Sir Colin. Sir Colin's sire was Lord Cranley, winner of ten first prizes and four second prizes. Lord Cruniey's dam, Miss Palmer, was by Lord Salisbury ; dam Duchess 11., by Sir Colin. Lord Salisbury is by Conqueror ; dam Darlii g, by Lintock, Lord Jrauley's sire, Laird of Kilbride, by Prince ot Kilbride ; dam Flower, bj Prince Charlie : 2nd dam, Rose ol Kellor, by Baron of Glenlie. Kelvin is by Prince Royal, dam Bet, bj Napoleon, and is winner of several first prizes; among others he gained the Champion at Christchureh Show in 1886. Diamond gained the following prizes when two years old : —First at Tt.marn, second at Ashba:ton ; when three years, first at Timarn, third a( Ashbnrton. Miss ;■ aimer is winner ol 18 first, 6 second, and 2 Champion prizes, and for mare and progeny hat never been beateu. Lord Salisbury it winner of 17 first; and Champion prizes, and retired from the ring unbeaten. Sir Colin has gained the following prizes when a yearling : 2nd at Timarn and first at Cbristchurch ; when twe years, first at Christehuroh. After a season at the stud at Ashfourfcon he was sold for 350 guineas to & Sydney buyer, snd after his arrival in Anstralia he fairly took all before him in the show ring. After his many successes he eclipsed all previous wins by gaining the Prize and Championship at Wagga Wagga, the largest show in the Southern Hem sphere, and was sold fox 800 guineas. Dam Gyp, by Vanquisher. Van* quisher, out of Tibbie, winner of several prize* at Christchurch and Leeston, by Prince Royal who won many champion prizes at Christchurch and Leeaton. Grand-dam Bella 11., winner of first prize at Christchurch in the two-year-old clas3; by Major, imp., g.g. dam Belle, winner of 16 first and second prizes in Otagoand Canterbury; by Blair's Champion (imp.) full brother to ai do tosh's Prince Charlie; g.g, dam Duchess, bred by Dr Wilmore, out of his best importsd mare and by an imported horse. Vanquisher's sire was that celebrated imported horse Young Vanquisher, bred by Mif Peter Anderson, Scotland, out of his celebrated mare Sally, by • Lochfergus's Champion; grand-sire Blair's Champion. Sally gained first prize at Glasgow and the Johnston Strathnear Exhibitions, as the best mare of Clydesdale breed exhibited there. Young Vanquisher, by Vanquisher, by old Sir William Wallace, by Lothian Tom, a well-known, most successful, and prizetaking horse. Prince Royal, sire of Tibbie, is by that well-known horse Macintosh's Prince Charlie. Vanquisher, as a two-year old, was shown twice, viz., at Leenton and Christchurch, where he gained first honours. He was again shown at Christen arch the following year (1887), where he carried off the first prize. For further particulars apply to J.
