The House resumed at 7.30. The voucher debate proceeded throughout the evening. Mr LAURENSON admitted that the weight of evidence was overwhelmingly against any payment whatever having been made to Captain Saddon for re-organising defence stores. It was suggested in the course of the debate that the Whole thing was based on hallucinations of *«» Ohri"*g"«* postal officials; but Mr ilbtULtt ridiculed this suggestion. Mr SEDDON said, tbafc as to the?e officials there wonld bo a departmental enquiry, and it would be private or public, as the Governor-in-Council determined Mr MASSEY Baid be was incomplete accord with the Auditor General's report, but he objected to the Premier's proposal to interfere with Hansard. He also thought M < McNab's amendment was unnecessary. The debate was proceeding at midsight. September 8, After the Telegraph Office closed, Mr McNAB'S amendment was carried by 47 to 14.
