WMRAO LICENSING COMMITTEE.
QUARTERLY MEETING.
The quarterly meeting of the Wairau Licensing Committee was held in Blenheim on Tuesday. There were JS-esent: Messrs T. Scott-Smith, fe.M. {chairman), Seymour, Griffin, bimnionds, Ching and Vavasour. The police report informed the Committee that the structural repairs m-dered in the case of the Terminus Hotel, at Picton. had not been earned j °T Mr Rogers (instructed by Mr Conmade by the Chairman and Mr Seymour, who made a special examination of the building after the annual meet--IDOn the motion of Mr Vavasour, seconded by Mr Ching, the following resolution was passed:—' This Committee thinks that the reasons assigned by the owner of the lernunus Hotel, Picton, for the delayin effecting the repairs ordered by the Committee in terms of the resolution passed at the last meeting are unsatisfactory, and that, under the circumstances, it is ordered that the license to the Terminus Hotel, Picton, be cancelled, such order to be suspended for the period of one month, to enable the owner to effect such W^in t he port, it being understood that in the event of the repairs being effected the license will not be cancelled. The Committee considered repoits as to minor repairs asked tor by tne •police in connection with the <^arendon, Federal, and Post Office Hotels at Picton, and the Mahakipawa Hotel.
