A Bill has been introduced into the Senate to make wireless telegraphy a State monopoly.
The progress report of the Tariff Commission presented to Lord Northeo c is but. a bare record of the work done.
Brisbane, July 28.
According to the newspaper Worker a critical juncture has arisen in the history of the Queensland Labor Party owing to the action of the recent Federal Convention. It adds: The labor voter is in an unfortunate position. As a federal labor loter he believes only in the nationalisation of monopolies; as a State labor voter he is asked to subscribe to the nationalisation of all indastries. The absurdity of the position is self-evident. Regarding the immediate stoppage of the sale of all Crown lands, this implies that the State shall not even sell town or suburban allotments, homestead or Conditional selections, and a man would be unable to obtain the title deeds of his land. The introduction of such irapracticable elements would infallibly drive away from the party many earnest 00-workers, and tend to prevent the Parliamentary Labor Party eo-operat" ing with any ether political party for the purpose of progressive legislation.
