Letters.—Each $oz or fraction theref—lnland, United Kingdom, India, Ceylon, Canada, Newfoundland, Cape Colony, Orange River Colony, Transvaal, and other British Possessions, Chili, Costa Rica, Egypt, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Paraguay, Portugal, Portuguese Colonies, Siam^ South Sea Islands, Aden, British Postal Agencies in China, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Mauritius. Fiji, New Hebrides, St. Helena, Windward Islands, Id; all other places, 2|d. [British New Guinea does not come under the arrangement by which the Common' wealth Post Office accepts without surcharge New Zealand letters prepaid at the penny rate. The postage to British New Guinea 13 2d.] Letter Cards.—Countries mentioned above, Id ; Australia, Id each. Post Cards.—All place*, single 1; reply 2d.

Books and Printed Papers. — All places, Id for each 2oz.

Newspapers.—Town and Inland, -|d each; Australia, Canada, and South Sea Islands, Id each; for Queensland and other countries Id each, if not exceeding 4oz, and |d for each additional 2oz.

Letters.—Letters not fully prepaid or posted wholly unpaid are charged double the deficiency at the prepaid rate on delivery. No letter may exo ed 2ft in length or lft in width or depth. Letters containing valuables must be registered.

Patterns and Sample Packets.—All places, not exceeding 4oz, Id; every additional 2oz, fd.

Parcels.—lnland, 6d for the first lib and 3d for each succeeding lib. Aus« tralian Colonies, Cook, Satnoan, Norfolk, and Hawaiian Islands, Sd for the first lib and 6d for each succeeding lib ; for all other countries the charges vary.

Cable Telegrams (International). — Europe, cheapest route, 3s per word. (Intercolonial), N.S.W., lowest charge, 4f d per word; other colonies, various ates.

Inland Telegrams.—Minimum rate, Gd for 12 words, including address and signature.

Telephone Exchange Connections,— From £5 to £7 pot? annum.

Commercial Papers.—Townj Id if not exceeding |oz, or Id for the first 4oz and |d for each succeeding 2oz ; Inland, Id for the first 4oz or less, and -Jd for each succeeding 2oz; Australia and other places, 2|cl for the iirst lOoz, and id £jr each succeeding 2oz.

Late-fee Letters, &c, must be paid Id in addition to tlie ordinary postage. Registration.—The fee for all places is 3d*
