Steatfobd, April 22. At a meeting of the Taranaki Presbytery yesterday it was resolved by 8 to 4, on the motion of the Rev. Mr Hutson: That this meeting, while de« sirous of cherishing the friendly feeling toward evangelical churches, does not think further proceedings for the union of the Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregational Churches is in thebesfc interest of the cause of Christ, and recommends the termination of the movement; but that sfcep3 be taken to secure a conference re the alleged overlapping of the evangelical churches
