THE ADVERTISING HEN.
A useful lesson may be learned from the barnyard chick— the lesson of never hiding your light under a lljshel. As soon as a hen lays an egg she does j nob sneak away from the nest as though she were ashamed. Not a bit of it! She advertises right off, " I've laid an egg! I've laid an egg!" and if there's a bit of ham in the house you are grateful to the hen for her advertisement. There's nothing like advertising, and when you come to think of it, everybody advertises. If Mrs Sassiety gives a party, she advertises—sends | out little invitation cards ,• if Miss Golightly is about to many she advertises ; if, after she is married, she finds out that marriage is a failure she advertises her divorce. If there is a new baby in the huuse there is a pretty big advertisement, and the baby does its own advertising pretty efficiently, too! When the baby cries in the dead of night a pyjama-clad individual answers the advertisenent rather promptly. There is good and bad advertising. EVERY GOOD THING NEEDS TO BE ADVERTISED, AND ADVERTISED PROPERLY.
