FOOTBALL.
The Koromiko and Wairau thirds tried conclusions at Koromiko, the game ending in a draw, each side scoring a try. Wairau kicked off and very soon had Koromiko in difficulties, forcing them three times in succession. Good play, however, on the part of Koromiko forwards, headed by Randall and Annear, took the ball .to half-way, where G. Randall gob possession, and after a brilliant run scored at tne corner, the kick* at gaol beiug a failure. Koromiko now seemed satisfied with themselves, for they did not play as weir as they had been doing. Shortly altar half-time was called. On resuming Wairau again charged their opponent's line, but Gibb repeatedly saved his side by Cl<\«* W<* °f However, T. Matthews fumbled a catch, which gave Wairaus a^ chance, Orooke being fortunate enough to get over the line. This score was not enhanced. Being now level both teams wakened up, and much giveand take play followed, Wairaus being hard pressed by their opponents, and no doubt were glad to hear the whistle sonnd. Air Esson controlled the game, his decisions being received without demur ; whilst Messrs Casey and Wakelin acted as line umpires.
