%». ■ - Press Association. Electric Telegraph, Copyright. Wellington, July 17. S. Giles, a young married man of Ohau, was killed to-day while hauling logs to Bartholomew's saw-mill. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned. At the inquest concerning the death of Constable Johnston, who shot himself this morning, the evidence showed that deceased had suffered acutely from indigestion, but had never given the least sign that he intended to take his life. A verdict of suicide while temporarily deranged was returned, the jury expressing sympathy with deceaaed'B relatives, who live at Auckland. Dunedin, July 18. On arrival of the Warrimoo at Dunedin wharf this morning a passenger named Alfred Armitage, who booked at Lyttelton, mistook the fruit shoot for the landing stage, and stepping on it slid down to the wharf, sustaining injuries to his head. He was rendered unconscious and removed to the hospital. .
