BRITAIN'S FISCAL POLICY
THE GERMAN CORRESPOND-
ENCE.
Press Association. Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received July 18, 9.34 a.m. Berlin, July 17, Commenting on the LandsdowneRichthofen correspondence, several Berlin papers blame the latter for menacing Great Britain.
The organ of Herr Richter, leade* of the German People's Party, considers it an unfortnnate faux pas, bringing grist only to Mr Chamberlain's mill, and calculated seriously to affect Germany's enormously preponderating exports to Britain.
The Deutsche Tages Zeitung declares the correspondence to be extremely awkward, and shows that Germany has abandoned retaliation with Canada, and is practically asking Britain to close the discussion.
