Sydney, July 15.

The Income Tax Amending Bill has b»en introduced in the State Parliament. It is intended to stop leakage to the extent of over thirty thousand pounds. The measure provides for a tax on interest on foreign mortgages. Where the mortgagee lives abroad the mortgagor will be empowered to derluct the amount of the tax from the interest due. It is also proposed to make agents of shipping companies who39 chief offices are outside the Stats> pay a tax of 6 per cent, on outward freights and passage moneys.
