Tho Caso of Mr. G. HAMILTON.
{By a Dunedia Reporter.)
A story well worth hearing was told to a reporter by Mr. Goorge Hamilton, of 18 Maclnggan-strcct, Duncdiu. Those who have not already heard it will find considerable interest in reading tho following statements- — "For tho greater part of my life, said Mr. Hamilton, " I have been used to plenty of hard work, and I think there is nothing like it for keeping the body in a heaithy condition. When I commenced to get up in years a bib I thought it time to take life a little easier, so I started shop-keoping. It is really marvellous how tho change affected me. The easo and comparative laziness of my altered career did nob altogether agree with me, Tor I got terribly stout and my liver went sluggish. My Former habitual activity was succeeded by a feeling as if everything was a burden. I could not go about my duties is I would Hko to, being hindered by i sense of lassitude and fatigue- which precluded all efforts to work from being satisfactorily carried out. It took a long time to make np my mind what I would like to eat, and after I safe down ivith my food in front of me I could very rarely eat it. At other times my appebite was a Httlo better, but it did nob make any difference how small a quantity of food I ate there was always a ieeling of paiufda discomfort i» the stomach, afterwards. Frightfully severe aains between my shoulders also came in, and an awful ache settled in my forehead. My headaches were often so intense that I could hardly tee out of oiy ©yes, besides experiencing a throbbing in my temples which resulted in ats of giddiness. Everything became i>!urred and indistinct, besides appearing to rapidly revolve. Severe pains sppearcd in my loins and at the end >f my ribs, sometimes being so acute m to make me gasp for breath." . " Did the excess of flesh you had atiained still remain?" queried the reoorter. " "Not a bit of it. I was, comparatively speaking, reduced to a shadow, is I could not sleep very well it was >nly to >be expected that my nervous .ystem should suffer, and it did, with a 'engeance. My nerves were thoroughly [ :xm down and out of tone. Occasionally ( got a little sleep but I never felt refreshed after it. A sure indication of ■ny excessive weakness lay in the fact •;hat I was always in a state of profuse perspiration. I could sit down in a -hair and still the sweat would run out >f me. The morning Mas the time I generally felt worse, for my limbs adied •ntensely. and I had a bitter taste in ny mouth. My chest felt as though it ,vere pressed down by a heavy weight, jnd the trouble I had in drawing my jreath sometimes can scarcely bo imagined. Whether I slept for a few lours at night cr not I was in just the ;ame miserable, drowsy condition all lay, a symptom which Peon cn!y attrioute to'the irregularity of i"y bowels. (1 great amount of r.gony was caused by the generation of wind in my s!omach, ivhich arose to tho heart and. inado it ,-hrob. My mind was over-strained with ;he thoughts concerning my sufferings, vhich were bocoming more unbearable svery day." > \ ' . * . " t)id you -havo any medical adviser in attendance?" "I am pleased to say I aid not. l have to thank my own judgment for iakin<* such action which dispenses with the services of doctors. Reading about several people whose health had been restored by Cieinouts Tonic induced me to rive that medicino a trial, a few bottlerj bringing mo round splendidly. I could soon eat without any painful .oii-ciuMces, and I slept well at night. Tho fearful pains in my shoulders and !o:m were gone, and the wind nevei again formed in my stomach. My headache* were removed, elasticity and vitality returning to my limbs—al! through tho splendid properties of Clements Tonic. I took a new interest ii life, and felt bright and cheerful. Clements Tonic quickly put me in the pml ...•f condition, and in order that everyone may know these facts you may publish them any way you like."
