It is officially announced that Mr Alexander Michie, who has been temporarily discharging tho duties of the General Manager of the Bank for some months, has decided to return to Dunedin and resume there his position of branch manager. The directors had hoped he would have seen his way to have remained permanently in Wellington at the head of affairs, but for family reasons be was unable to do so. The directors, therefore, offered the Gene ral Managership to Mr Alexander Mao kintosh, who has for over five years discharged tho duties of Cbief Auditor, and iias consequently an intimate knowledge of the business of the Bank. He has accepted the position. Mr Mackintosh was trained in a Scotch Bank, and was i'or mauy years in the service of the Commercial Banking Coy., of Sydney, and was General Manager of the Royal Bank of Queensland when he accepted at the bauds of the New Zealand Government the office of Chief Auditor of tho Bank of New Zealand.
