THE CLYDE ENGINEERS.

LOCAL OFFICIALS ORDERED TO

REFUND STRIKE] PAY.

Press Association. Electric Telegraph

Copyright.

London, June 17.

The Amalgamated Society of Engineers bas directed the Glasgow district committee to refune £1 per member which was disbursed during the recent Clyde strike. The committee refusedJ whereupon the Amalgamated Society directed the trustees of the branches to remit the funds to headquarters, or they would be expelled.

The local engineers threaten to leave the society on the ground that the officers misdirected the London society in regard to the strike, and also owing to their tyranny.
