JUNIOR BANNER.
The Pirates forfeited their match with the Awarua Juniors, and can now take no farther part in the contest.
The Koronriko and Rival tenms played on the to^vn ground, acd the latter won by 11 points to nil. For the winners tries were gained by Tapp, Martella, and PriddJp, and the latter converted his try. All the scores were the result of forward play. The Rivals, although they made many attempt"* to do so, could not got (he ball away to their backs. The Kororaiko team are a weighty, active lot of players, and before the season is over should much improve in their play. At present they seem to lack experience and dash, but that should soon be altered. Their backs do not handle the ball well as yet, but the team a3 a whole contains tnauy promising players. The play of the Rivals was somewhat disappointing. Fisk, centrethreequai'ter, was the bo3t of their backs, taking the ball and kicking well. Armstrong at half did not seem able to handle the ball; aud five eighths position did not tuit Ball. Tapp and Priddle shone most in the open work amongst the forwards.
