Ashbukton, May 24.

The Minister of Mines returned today from a visit of inspection to the coal mines at Mfc. Somers. Tho Minister expressed surprise at finding that such large bodies of coal existed in the district and the extent of development of the mines already attained. He promised he would get all available information, and, if satisfactory, thought the-request for increased facilities for transit should be granted.
