TEMPERANCE AGITATION.

Press Association. Electric Telegraph.

Copt/right.

Auckland, April 16.

A large number of temperance workers met Mr F. W. Isitt in conference at the invitation of the Prohibition League. A resolution was passed urging the New Zealand Alliance to endeavor to secure a Bill to prevent a repetition of the Newtown and Bruce fiascos, and secure to the people the carrying out of their wishes as expressed by the ballot box, and to place the King Country in the same position as Clutba as regards effective prohibitory law in harmony with the recommendations of the Police Commission.
