MARLBOROUGH RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

THE ANNUAL SHOOTING.

The annual shtoting for the Government grant of £50 passed off very successfully on Saturday, is fine but tricky weather. About eighty competitors took part, and some fin© shooting was done, considering that this was the first occasion on which competitive shooting has taken place with the new regulation targets —viz., 7-inch bull at 200 yds and 300 yds and 20-inch bull at 500 yds and 600 yds, with centres and magpies reduced to scale. This made a remarkaWe difference to the scores as a whole. The prize moneys were pretty evenly divided amongst the ! different corps and clubs having members competing. The veteran Vol. Harding carried off biggest money, but Major D'Arcy Chaytor had the honor j of winning two matches out of three. The following are the prize-winners :— No.l Match—sooyds; 10 shots.
