Sir John Forrest, in a letter to The Times, makes a correction in that journal's published report of remarks made by him on 21st August. What he stated was that Australia, as far as internal defence was concerned, was able to take caro of herself, basing his remark on the number of men available between 18 and GO years of age.
The original report of the statement omitted the word " internal," and in a leading article The Times rather sneered afc Sir John's statement to the
interviewer,
