CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE NAVY.
THE VICTORIA MEMORIAL.
Press Association. Electric Telegraph. Copyright. Received August 15, 10.11 p.m. London, August 15. The sums mentioned at the Premiers' Conference in connection with the proposed annual contribution to the Imperial Navy include:—The Cape, £50,000, New Zealand £40,000, Natal £35,000. It is understood that Canada will enter into a special arrangement for the maintenance of the Navy. The colonies promised £100,000 towards the Victoria memorial, including Canada £30,000, the Cape £20,000, and Natal £10,000.
