Mr Crosse (Hawke's Bay) moved that, in the opinion of this Conference, it i-i aclvi.sabh) to so a r.end the Rabbit Prevention Act that power be granted to such districts as should by a majority of statutory ratepayers decido to work under the conditions of the Act of 18S6. This was agreed to.

Mr Ritchie, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, attended and explained the Bill now before Parliament in regard to the small birds nuisance. Tha following resolution was carried : That the Small Birds Nuisance Bili, with the exception of the clause which requires amendment, meets with the hearty approval of this Conference; that it be a recommendation from this Union that the Government oxperiw rnent and uso every endeavor to find the most effective means of destroying small birds ; and that the Government offer a substantial bonus for the discovery of an effective destroyer.

The Stnd Bill was discussed at length. Many opinions antagonistic to the measure were expressed. The Conference decided to approve of the Bill, provided its provisions were made permissive, not compulsory.

It was decided that questions be placed on the question sheet for Parlia mentary candidates regarding the increase of the honorarium, co-operative labor, triple electorates, and retrenchment.
