The State Treasurer has notified the beads of the various Departments that there will be no increase of salaries in the public service for the current year. This is part of the Government's programme of rigid economy.

Perth, July 8.

The Premier has declared it is the intention of the new Government to give the electors an early opportunity of dictating the policy of the country by introducing a Redistribution Bill providing for a general election at an early date.
