On resuming Hopkins' and Armstrong's partnership was soon dissolved, the latter being bowled by a ball which ho did not attempt to play, but tried to put leg befGre—7 for 277. Kelly retired at 257. Trumblo was out second ball—9 for 287. Sannders and Hopkins each added a single, when Rhodes closed the innings by clean bowling Saunders. In the cricket match England made in the second innings 195. The Australians won by 143 runs. Fine weather prevailed, and the ; wicket was fast. On resuming Jessop was put out leg before—2 for 75. Maclarcn followed, but Trumble immediately removed Tyklesley's legstamp—3 for 84.
Fry followed, and soon went out in a similar manner to Jessop—4 for 93.
Jackson joined Maclaren, and the runs came freely till 162, when Noble dismissed Jackson.
Maclaren was joined by Lilley, but the former gave an easy chance to Tramper at short leg—6 for 165.
Lilley was .bowled at 175, and the first ball Hirat received was fatal—B
for 175.
Branud was caught at point at 186. Barnes, the last man, was bowled by Trumble.
The wicket became worn. Eight wickets fell at the same end.
