THE MARLBOROUGH SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL.
TO THE EDITOB.
g lß> __ln your paper of June 17th, which I have only just received, I see a subscribers' list opened " for a monument to the Marlborough soldiers who have lost their lives in the war in South Africa." I would suggest that- the monument should bear the names of all the Marlborough soldiers, special mention to be given to the names of those who were killed, wounded, or died from disease in the campaign. I think it is due to the families of these brave men, who haT* done so much to sustain the honor of New Zealand before the world that their names should be handed down to posterity, and that this tribute should occupy a conspicuous position in the most public part of the town.—-I anij &c., C. DE V. TeSOHEMAKER.
