Bucharest, June 22.
A fire destroyed the prison at Bucharest. Six hundred prisoners in the building threw themselves against the iron doors screeching for mercy, and cursing the gaolers, who were afraid to unlock the doors in the absence of soldiers.
On the troops arriving the doors were unlocked, and the prisoners tried to escape, but wero driven back by bayonets.
