STOCK SALES. Chkistchuech, April 10. Fat Cattle.—ls7 were yarded yesterday, being mostly good sorts, and a rise of 10s to 12s per head occurred. Beef, 19s to 24s per 1001b, and up to 26s lor extra quality. Prime heavy steers, £0 to £11 12s Cd ; others, £8 to £8 10s ; prime heifers, £8 17s 6d to £9 17s 6d; others, £5 15s to £8; prime cows, £8 10s to £9 15s ; others, £5 2s Gd to £8. Fat Sheep.—-About 400, including more wethers than usual. Export buyers competed keenly. Good ewes rose Is to Is 6d. Prime wethers, 15s Gd to 17s 6d ; lighter, 13s Gd to 15s ; prime ewes, 15s 7d to lGs lid : good.. 12s Od to 15s ; others, 9s 6d to 12s. Fat Lambs. — 880, mostly good quality, and a rise of 6d to 9d took place. For export 600 sold at 10s 6d to 14s, averaging 12s 9d; 200 to butchers at 8s 9d to 13s Bd. Store sheep—l6,ooo, mostly from Nelson. There was good sale for all sorts, especially for forward wethers and young ewes. Forward wethers, 12s to 13s 7d ; medium, 10.s 9d to Us EM ; backward and small, 8s to 10s 3d; good young ewes, 12s 9d to 13s; fair sorts, 9s 2d to 10s Gd; aged, 6s Gd to 3s ; forward lambs, 7s to 8s 5d ; backward, 6s Gd to 8s Id ; shorn, 4s. Pigs—s6o, including some good fats. There was improved sale for these, porkers being scarce. Large stores were kept up by the Southern buyers, but little pigs were unsaleable. Bajoners, 30s to 47s 6d, equal to 3d and Ud per lb ; porkers, 24s to 31s, equal ;o 3fd and 4d ; strong stores, 22s and >3s.
