The steamer Tagliaferro has been towed into port with the intermediate shaft and propellor broken. The accident happened in the vicinity of Wilson's Promontory. The disabled steamer was picked up next day.
Brisbane, February 17.
When the Prosperity struck the boat was washed away. The crew took to the rigging, and remained there all night. They were thrown into the sea when the vessel broke up, and, excepting the mate and cook (whose names are unknown), managed to reach the
shore.
