LORD R ANFUIiLY is rising 6 year; old, was foaled November, 1895, am was bred by James Bishop Esq. Wheatstone, Canterbury. He is i dapple brown, standing 17 hands high with immense quality of good flat bone an abundance of superior action, com bined with a splendid temper. Fanny has had a niosi successful innings in the show ring 1898 at Ashburton; after being awarded first prize, she was described bj the judges to be one of the finest mares seen in the ring for years. Vanquisher, the sire of Fanny, is bj Young Vanquisher (imp.), dam Tibbie, by Prince Royal, who carried oil several champion prizes at Christchurch, grand dam Bell 11., by Major (imp); G. G. Belle, winner 16 first and second prizes in Otago and Canterbury, by Blairs Champion (imp), full brother to Mclntosh's Prince Charlie, G. G Duchess, bred by Dr Wilmore. Vanquisher is sire of that great colt Dr Seddon (not Dick Seddon). Miss Palmer, dam of Lord Cranlej and Dr Seddon, is by Lord Salisbury (imp), dam Duchess 11., sire Sir Colin (not Sir Colin Campbell), imported from Scotland. Lord Salisbury retired from the show-ring an unbeaten horse. Young Vanquisher, bred by Peter Anderson, Sfcranrear, Scotland, out oi his celebrated mare Sally by Locl> fergus, Champion grand-sire. Blair's champion Sally gained first prize at Glasgow, and at Johnstone and Strathrear Exhibitions as best Clydesdale mare exhibited there. Yoiing Vanquisher by Vanquisher, bj old Sir William Wallace, b& Lothian Tarn, Prince Royal, sire of Tibbie, is bj Mclntosh's Prince Charlie, abovementioned. Miss Palmer is winner of 24 first, 1C second, and.two champion prizes. Lord Ranjukly's stock in this district are very highly spoken of and are commanding big prices. Terms.—Season, £3 10s. Victor, the sire of Rotciv, is by Young Diomedes, and in the show rings and on the trotting track proved himself champion of the colony foi years * He lias sired a larger number oi successful trotting stock and winners in show rings than any other horse in the colony. Besides being credited oi siring more of the Canterbury section of the Rough Riders' mounts than any other sires. United States, the dam of Rotoit, is by that far-famed sire Dexter (imp), who claims nearly all the principal trotters of to-day on his side, owing to mares by him being mated to Jh other sires. J. E. Rotciv has a beautiful temper, and is the public's favorite. His last season's performances proved him to be the fastest horse yet trotted in Marlborongli. His second to Starborough, conceding that horse a long start in a mile, was a good performance, besides giving Brockleigh. 13sec. in two miles, and being just beaten, was also a good performance. His win in the mile at the Wairau Trotting Club's meeting, giving long starts, was a good wind up for his season's work. Out of seven starts last season Rotciv has only once been unplaced.
