Christghurch, December 15.
A lad escaped from the Burnham School twelve months ago and had never been traced. His mother has just received a letter from the boy to say he is now in the training ship in London.
Pakuerston N., December 14. The well-known Commercial Hotel at the corner of Main Street and the Square was sold at auction to-day for £9SOO. Mr W. Coombs, Palmerston Nortyi, was the purchaser.
Dunedin, December 14. Drizzling rain -with, occasional showers put a stop to the amateur athletic sports for the second time, also to the swimming tournament.
