The Arbitration Conrt, which has boon considering the breaches of the butchers' award* to-day gave its doeision in regard to the cases in which judgment had been held over. In tho case against Jesse Chittenden, charged with having employed an assistant over 19 years of age at a wage less than that prescribed in the award of the Arbitration-Court, the judgment of the Court was that defendant be ordered to pay an extra 7s Gd which was demanded by the Union, with Court costs and witnesses expenses.
In the easo of Pollock and Gilkes, charged with employing boys, the Court also held that there had been a bieach. There was also a I reach of the award by Sparks and Philip, and in both cases the Conrt inflicted a moderate penalty of 10s, with Court costs and expenses of witnesses. Haines, whoso case was heard this morning, was in-a.somewhat different position, and he would have to pay a fine of 10s and Court costs, but not the witnesses expenses.
