Several charges against $he Gear Company wore'called 'on, nit wero withdrawn, being trivial. The question was whether boys engaged for riding out and general' worlc should be rated as boys or general hands. Judgment was also reserved in other cases arisingl out of the emp]oyment of boys, tho point being whether boys were 4© be put on the ldvol with men; Tho President expressed his opinion in one caso that the effect would be to put men on tho I6vel with boys. f A
For having employed a non-Unionist to drive his oart without first consulting the employed register, a working butcher was fined five shillings.
The, Tin Plate and, Sheet,, Metal WorUors Union filed a reference to the Conciliation Board for enquiry into the dispute with the-employers.
