Hokitika, April 10. The Iflst wash up by tributors of Craig's Freehold Gold Dredging Company amounted to 3iozs 4dwts sgrs. Of tliis Chesterman and party obtained lOozs 14dwts lagrs, and Gondie and party Mozs lOdwts.
It is stated that the New. River dredge is now on good but shallow ground and more than clearing expenses. If the wash thickens a little, there will be a margin for dividends, lOozs amply covering the cost of working.
Prospecting on the Ayliner Lead Company's claim has evidently proved satisfactory. The various contracts in connection with the company are to be pushed on with all possible speed.
Dunedin, April 17. The Cromwell Company has declared a dividend of 2s Gd.
