A NAPIER BARRISTER LOST AT SEA.

Wellington, April 17.

Mr George E. Sainsbury, the wellknown Napier barrister, was lost overboard from the steamer Monowai yesterday morning while the vessel was on the passage from Sydney to this port. Mr Sainsbury left New Zealand, accompanied by. Mrs Sainsbury, about a year ago for an European tour, and was returning to his home. It appears that the first intimation of anything having happened to the unfortunate gentleman was conveyed to the officer on watch at about five minutes past six, Sainsbury being then reported to foe missing. The vessel was "immediately' put about and search made, but no trace was found. There is reason to suppose that the mishap occurred an hour or two before the time referred to.
