The Standard states that prior to the commencement ot the voyage of the Duke of York, a suggestion from representative colonial quarters was submitted to the King to create the Duke "Prince of Australia."

Ministers considered if titular dignities were conferred upon the colonies, Canada had the lir.st claim.

The suggestion is nqw made that Prince Edward, eldest son of the Duke, should bo created "Prince of Canada," and Albert, the second son, created " Prince of Australia."
